Payment Terms
OnSyra, operated by Lansky Center Solutions Inc. Version 1.0 · 9 September 2026 · DRAFT — requires counsel review
These terms form part of the Terms of Service. They describe exactly how money moves, because a marketplace that is vague about money is a marketplace people stop trusting.
1. The money chain
Every engagement follows one path, and the platform does not have a second one:
posted rate → bid or counter → work contract → escrow hold → invoice → payout
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Posted rate | The Client publishes what the work pays. Posting is free. |
| Bid / counter | A Provider accepts the posted terms or counters on pay, schedule or extras. |
| Work contract | On award, the agreed terms are frozen into a contract snapshot. Later edits to the listing do not change what was agreed. |
| Escrow hold | Funds are reserved from the Client's balance and cannot be spent elsewhere. |
| Invoice | Issued when the Client approves the completed work. |
| Payout | The Provider's net amount becomes available, then moves out on a chosen rail. |
Funds are held, not spent. A hold reduces available balance but is not a payment. It is released back to the Client if the engagement is cancelled before work begins, and captured when work is approved.
2. Fees
| Fee | Amount | Paid by |
|---|---|---|
| Posting a work order | $0 | — |
| Platform service fee | 8% of the contract value (configurable per agreement) | Provider |
| Instant payout | 2.5% of the amount advanced | Provider, optional |
| Domestic wire | $25.00 | Provider, optional |
| Same-day ACH | $1.50 | Provider, optional |
| Standard ACH | $0 | — |
Fees in force are always shown before you confirm. The current values live in
config/payments.php and any change is announced under §12 of the Terms of
Service before it takes effect.
3. Rails, limits and timing
| Rail | Settles | Minimum | Maximum | How it settles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ACH credit (deposit) | 2 business days | $1 | $25,000 | Automatically |
| Same-day ACH | Same business day | $1 | $100,000 | Automatically |
| ACH debit (funding pull) | 3 business days | $1 | $25,000 | Automatically |
| Domestic wire | 1 business day | $1,000 | $1,000,000 | Operator-settled |
| Zelle | Same day | $1 | $5,000 | Operator-settled |
| Cash App | Same day | $1 | $2,500 | Operator-settled |
| Interac e-Transfer (CAD) | Same day | $1 | $10,000 | Operator-settled |
Why some rails are operator-settled
Zelle, Cash App, wire and Interac e-Transfer do not offer a marketplace payout API to a platform that is not itself a bank. We are explicit about this rather than implying automation we do not have. On those rails:
- You request the payout and receive a unique reference.
- LCS operations sends the funds and matches the reference to the bank or wallet statement.
- The transfer settles only after that match.
Same-day rails are same business day. Requests after 2:00 pm America/New_York, or on a weekend or US bank holiday, are worked the next business day.
4. Limits
Applied per account, on a rolling basis:
- $25,000 per day
- $100,000 per week
- $250,000 per month
- 25 payouts per day
Withdrawals of $10,000 or more are reviewed by a person before they are sent. Review normally completes within one business day. Higher limits are available to established accounts on request and are set on the account, not by exception.
5. Failures, returns and reversals
A transfer can fail on submission (for example a closed account) or be returned after it appeared to settle — most commonly insufficient funds, an account closed between submission and settlement, or an unauthorised-debit claim. ACH returns can arrive up to 60 days after settlement.
In either case:
- The amount is credited back to your LCS balance, exactly once.
- You are notified with the reason and the return code.
- Repeated returns on the same instrument suspend that instrument.
You remain responsible for funds you have already withdrawn against a payment that is later reversed. If your balance cannot cover a reversal, the shortfall becomes payable to LCS.
6. Identity requirements before payout
No money leaves the platform for you until:
- Identity verification (KYC/KYB) is complete;
- Sanctions screening is clear and current (re-run at least annually);
- A W-9 (US) or W-8BEN (non-US) is on file once your cumulative earnings for the calendar year reach $600.
We will tell you specifically which of these is outstanding. Earnings continue to accrue to your balance while verification is pending — you are not losing money, only the ability to move it out.
7. Tax reporting
LCS reports contractor earnings on Form 1099-NEC where the $600 threshold is met and the recipient is a US person. Your running total is shown in your wallet. Providers are responsible for their own taxes; nothing withheld is implied by anything in this document.
Counsel note: whether 1099-NEC or 1099-K applies, and whether LCS is the payer or a facilitator, depends on the money-transmission determination. See
README.md.
8. Chargebacks and disputes
Money disputes follow dispute-resolution-policy.md. While a dispute is open on
an engagement, the disputed amount stays held and is released to whichever
side the resolution determines.
9. Dormant balances
Balances untouched for three years are handled under the unclaimed-property law of your state of residence. We contact you at your registered address before any escheatment.
10. Currency
Balances are held in the currency of the engagement. LCS does not convert currency and does not charge an FX spread; your bank may.
